One in the air, one on the ground

Another day in sunny SD!
The day has finally come! Kim is going to to touch Californian soil in less than six hours! You have no idea how exciting this is. We have been planning this day since our third year of high school, so that's about...5 years now. It was kind of funny how I found out she was coming tonight, since she told me yesterday. I wasn't expecting her till next week, and I thought she was flying into LA, since everything had worked out so weird and not to our tempo. However, it was a fun way to wake up with a message that says: CHICK, MESSAGE ME WHEN YOU'RE AWAKE. I'M COMING TOMORROW!! The only thing that sucks now is that I have to put a good amount of homework in a short amount of time since she is spending the night. I can do this!

If you look closely you can see downtown

Roux and me on our walk
Besides this o so amazing news I haven't been doing anything too exciting. I did go on a very nice walk with my dog the other day. I'm so lucky with the weather here in San Diego. Yesterday was a little bit cloudy, but today another gorgeous day! I went shopping with Joshie last week. He wasn't so stoked about it. Looking for shoes, shirt, and jeans for his sister. I was very much liking it. I got myself very cute booties, and oxfords, ad I couldn't pass some very cute earrings, rings, and necklace, and the black jeans I got match perfect with my new panther shirt. I'll post some pictures next time.Although Joshie wasn't happy about how I decided to spend the day, we did end up eating at in-n-out, which is an amazing fast food restaurant, with the best burgers ever! So, Joshie was totally OK with everything at the end.

Now I am going to get my act together and start on my presentation for my communications class, and finish my essay for my English class.
The amazing double at in-n-out. yummie!!

Time for the leaves to change

Kim and I enjoying the evening in Enschede
School has only started three weeks ago, but it is asking a lot of me already. Seriously, it feels like we are married. However, most of my classes are keeping me interested, except my computer class. I think the substance of the class is very interesting, and I'm really enjoying making my own programs and all, but my professor needs to pick up the pace a little. I can understand that not everyone is able to finish their program successfully within 15 minutes, but an hour of doing nothing is a little bit much. It's a good thing that it's a computer class, since while I have nothing to do I can check my E-mail and pin things on Pinterest while waiting.

I can't believe that I'm going to complain about this, but it is just simply too hot here in San Diego. It is not normal that I get sunburned from walking around campus. Not cool. By the beach it is all nice and beautiful, but beach time is sadly over. I want fall! Making pumpkin pie, being able to wear very cute boots, pumpkin patch, pumpkin spice coffee, Halloween, and my favorite Thanksgiving. This years Halloween and Thanksgiving is going to be so memorable! Especially Thanksgiving, since my girl Kim will be joining us. Still can't believe she is actually coming here. If only the paperwork could hurry up a little bit. That would be awesome.

My bow-tie strawberries
It is sad that Thanksgiving is still 2 months away, but Kim will be here way before than, and so will my mother! Who I finally talked to last weekend. I'm always happy to talk to my crazy Dutch family. They never disappoint me in telling me something fun and interesting. As my little brother has started his first year in College this week! He also is going into the hospitality business. Maybe there is a family company at the end of this tunnel? I am so excited for him, and he looks very handsome in his suits. So ladies watch out! As for the twins, they are enjoying there last year of no schooling, by watching how Diego and Dora save the animals all over the world.

Besides all of this I haven't really been doing all too much, besides enjoying the farmers market in Little Italy, Downtown San Diego. And Some amazing chocolate covered strawberries given to me by family friends as an extra since I babysat their kids. It was amazing!
Some parfait and flowers

It Has Started

The first week of my last year community college has started! I am taking 19 units, which are 6 different classes. My classes are as followed:
First day of school
Math (calculus), English, Communications, Economics (macro), History (western civilizations), and a computer class (making your own programs and things..). Yes, I am aware that this is a lot to deal with in a 4 month time frame, but I'm convinced that I'm able to do it. I have to... It's been paid for, haha.

My first week back felt as if I've never had a summer vacation in the first place. My shoulders are hurting of having to drag my bag around all over campus, it's just simply too hot for school to have started already, and parking is an ultimate nightmare. I looked for parking on Thursday for over an hour, didn't find anything. Had to park off campus. Why on earth do I need a permit if there's no parking?! This is very frustrating. However, there are positive things about school starting again. I finally saw my girls Victoria en Toni again. Really missed those ladies over break. And I wouldn't dare to forget to mention my men Tomas, Jay and TJ, bummer that none of our schedules are a like. No more fun lunches and hang outs, daaaamn. Most of my professors seem cool too, so that's a huge plus. Nothing is worse than having to deal with a grumpy non sympathetic professor all semester.
Victoria, TJ, and I.
Just chillin'

Now I have to turn of my laptop and focus on my homework. I think my professors -even though they seem nice- don't realize that their subject isn't the only subject students take. If I don't start working on it now I'll probably get behind schedule, and that's something I simply cannot afford happening this semester. Hopefully I'm going to be able to keep this up the rest of the semester. To let out some steam.

Silly me

OB with Joshie
Finally almost a year I've found the time to sit down and write a new post. I could make up a lot of excuses why I haven't been posting. But if I'm honest, I've just been lazy and really haven't been caring enough to write something.

The summer is over and Fall semester 2013 is knocking on my door, banging on it more likely. Monday is the day when my last year of community college is going -hopefully- start. Lat year has been -as I may say so myself- a success. My grades were awesome and I was able to have a little bit of a social life. This semester is going to be different though. I'm going to take 19/20 units, meaning a social life is basically impossible. Not cool, but it's worth it.. I hope. Hahaha

With my girl Mayte
But enough about school we are not there for another 40 hours or so, haha. Lets talk about some fun stuff, like my summer. Although I haven't been doing much. I worked this summer as a hostess at an amazing restaurant with a view of downtown -no complaints-, and I had amazing co-workers. One of them was my girl Mayte, who I met last year in my math class and has been one of the people who has been helping me figure out the thought process of San Diegens. It's more complicated than you think. Besides Mayte they have much more awesome people working there. I had a great time, and very bummed that yesterday was my last day. The potted brownie did make saying good-bye easier, haha.

OB with Aris
As summer came so did my little brother. He flew in at the beginning of July and is still present. Hadn't seen him since Christmas, I did miss him a bit. We haven't been able to hang out a lot since I was working all the time, but we've had fun in between. Took him and Joshua to go to Monsters University, shopping, beach, ice cream, and more cliche summer activities. The little one is going to start college this year, going into the same industry as his big sister. Very proud of him, I know he'll do great at it.

This is not the only family visit I'll get this year. My ear mamskiebamskie is coming to visit me in October with one of her friends. So stoked to see her! And show her where I go to school, my neighborhood, my friends, and where to get the best food. Now I just wish that my midterms aren't during the time she is here. That'll just kill my whole happy feeling vibe. However, she'll not be the only person visiting me before this year is over. My Dutch Blonde -also known as Kim-, is also coming. And she will be here for a little longer, like I don't know.. 3 months longer! I feel so blessed that this is really happening! I think I'm more excited about it than she is, hahaha.

I think I have brought you guys a little bit more up to speed. Now lets keep our fingers crossed that I can keep it up this time!
